Japantenna
Japantenna, the brain child of co-founders Kenta Takamori and Tatsuki Tomita, is a concept pop-up storefront designed to showcase the unique art, craftsmanship, and culture of Japan. Their vision, along with the energy and expertise of the other founding members (Kim Kolbe, Emily Murase, and Kaz Maniwa) have brought this idea to fruition.
The inaugural pop-up experience in November 2021 featured Kagoshima, a prefecture located on the Southern island of Kyushu. It was made possible by a community of volunteers, as a project of the Japantown Task Force, with funding provided through the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the San Francisco Council of District Merchants Associations. You can learn more, and see a schedule of upcoming locations on the official site.
